The Story Behind Rug Rag

rugrag.com was created in 2007 by brothers Matthew and David Dilmaghani in an effort to provide accurate information on and about hand made oriental rugs.  It's all too often that shoppers find incorrect or misleading information all across the Internet from ebay auctions to online stores to classifieds and even news sources.  The goal of Rug Rag is to create market transparency in what has traditionally been a "buyer beware" marketplace.

We see ourselves as a newsletter (a "rag" or blog) on all aspects of the industry as well as an archive of information on and about Oriental Rugs. 

rugrag.com is the leading innovator in online content and tools aimed at Oriental Rug shoppers, owners, and retailers.  The site includes innovative tools including the “Oriental Rug Style Guide,” “Stain Removal Guide,” “Rug Forum”, an extensive Site Map / Archive section, and hundreds of pages of original content with high resolution photographs. 

Matthew and David Dilmaghani have family history in the rug industry can be traced back over a century, originating in Persia.

We hope we succeed in educating consumers about all aspects of Oriental Rugs, leading to higher appreciation and more informed purchasing decisions through our online web tools, content, forum and the ability to contact us for Q&A.
